Obelisk Coastcare:
  Call for volunteers

Local residents are invited to join Obelisk Coastcare group in activities including planting and weeding at its monthly working bees at Obelisk Reserve. These activities are vital to conserve and prevent our coastal healthland areas from becoming degraded. This reserve contains Themeda australis grasslands, an ecologicai threatened community which requires protection for its future survival. The working bee is around 3 hours duration, no experience necessary and tools are supplied.

Time: 8am start
When: From Friday 2 March 2012
Where: Ordnance Street, The Hill
Wear: Long pants, long sleeved shirt, covered shoes, broad brimmed hat, sunglasses, gloves and drinking water.

The community arts festival is a fundraiser for Friends of King Edward Park to raise much needed funds for the upcoming Land & Environment Court case defending public access to an area within King Edward Park that is to be developed for private use. Friends of King Edward Park aim to raise funds for ongoing preservation of the park.
